Their Eyes Were Watching God - Kingwood Book Group October Discussion

Join the Kingwood Book Group on October 19th as they discuss Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God. This book is the 2009 title for Houston’s Books on the Bayou annual program. This program is in its 8th year and seeks to bring together an entire city through reading and discussing the same book.

To bring a better understanding of Hurston’s work you may want to watch Zora Neale Hurston: Jump at the Sun, Their Eyes were Watching God or Zora’s Roots: the Life of Zora Neale Hurston all available from the Harris County Public Library. you may read the biocritique Zora Neale Hurston edited and with an introduction by Harold Bloom or listen to An Introduction Their Eyes were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, an audio guide by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Kingwood Book Group meets every 3rd Monday of the month from 7 – 9 pm. Their selection for November 16 is St. Agnes’ Stand by Tom Eidson.
