Is there a Golden Ticket?

It has long been a trend for film makers is to create films based on children’s literature.  I am sure you have heard the saying, “the book is better than the movie.” In my opinion, that is certainly true. In order to make a movie, they must cut or expand the content of the original story which causes it to become distorted. Consequently, movies rarely match the experience that you have created in your mind while reading.

That being said, literary based movies may just be a golden ticket for children who have not discovered a passion for reading. It has been my experience, that children are more likely to try something that they find challenging if the subject interest them.  Watching a movie will not make reading any easier, but it might be just enough motivation to get them started on the right path.
