Traipsing through Sherwood Forest
With the latest Robin Hood movie in production starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, and being rather a Robin Hood groupie, I recall the time when the Kevin Costner Robin Hood came out and a local TV station where I lived at the time ran a poll asking people who their favorite Robin Hood was: Errol Flynn or Kevin Costner. Of course, they left out plenty of other Robin Hoods as well. What about Douglas Fairbanks in the 1922 classic? Sean Connery in Robin and Marian? 1991's Patrick Bergen as Robin Hood? Disney's 1973 animated Robin Hood voiced by Brian Bedford, or their earlier live action with Richard Todd? With such an enduring legend there have been so many others. Since that time we've added Cary Elwes in Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Jonas Armstrong in the series Robin Hood, and now Russell Crowe. Errol Flynn will always be my favorite Robin Hood. What about you? Take the poll, leave a comment, or both!
