Undead by Kirsty McKay
It's October and Halloween is only 22 days away! I've already started decorating my house and putting finishing touches on my costumes. Ever since I started watching The Walking Dead, I've gotten into a zombie kick and wanted to share my recent horror read with you.
Undead by Kirsty McKay opens with high school new girl, Bobby, and the class ski trip in Scotland. On the way to Scotland, the bus stops at a restaurant for a quick lunch break. Bobby, not quite getting along with her school mates, stays behind with class trouble maker, Smitty. Time starts to pass as Bobby and Smitty talk but they get a surprise when fellow classmate, Alice, comes running to the bus. Alice informs them that everyone in the cafe is dead. Frightened and freaked out, the teens try to figure out a way home when they realize that their school mates and teachers have turned into zombies. The road ahead for Bobby, Smitty and Alice is bloody, gory, and all together horrific. Will they ever get out of this mess or will they be turned as well?
Undead is wonderfully written and Kirsty McKay delivers with the horror and the gore. What's great about Undead is that you don't know what's going to happen. Kirsty McKay makes you feel that you are on the journey with these teens and you don't know what might be around the corner for them. Undead by Kirsty McKay was such an enjoyable read for me and I hope you'll enjoy it too!
