Villain Turned Hero
One of my favorite character arcs in a novel or series is the redemption of a previously villainous or selfish character. Romance is full of heroes (and sometimes heroines) that start on the dark side only to be redeemed in the next book by the love they feel for their partners. Whether they are villains or “villains” their stories are always interesting.
Check out some of romance's best characters, both as villains and heroes:
- Sebastian St. Vincent: villain in It Happened One Autumn, hero in Devil in Winter (my personal favorite)
- Stryker: villain in the Dark Hunter series, hero in One Silent Night
- Graelam de Moreton: villain in Warrior’s Song, hero in Fire Song
- Lachlan MacGregor: villain in Man of My Dreams, hero in Love Me Forever
- Adam Black: villain in the Highlander series, hero in The Immortal Highlander
- Ophelia Reid: villain in The Heir, heroine in The Devil Who Tamed Her
And if you are a user of Overdrive downloadable ebooks:
- Nick Gentry: villain in Lady Sophia's Lover, hero in Worth Any Price
