We Have a Winner!

All of the participants who logged 4 books that they read over the summer into HCPL’s adult summer reading program, ReaderNation, were entered into a random drawing for Amazon.com gift cards sponsored by the Harris County Friends of the Library.  The Fairbanks Branch customer who won a $50 gift card was Christy R.  Christy is an emergency veterinarian and the owner of a bird, a guinea pig and a couple of hamsters.  Christy’s mother was always reading to Christy and her sister and taking them to the public library when they were children.  So, Christy grew up with a love of reading and libraries.  Every time she moves to a new town, the first thing she does is find the nearest grocery store and the nearest library.  She was delighted to find the Fairbanks Branch so close to her house.
