All HCPL branches will close at 5 PM on Thursday, April 17 and will be CLOSED Friday, April 18 in observance of Good Friday. We will reopen on Saturday, April 19 for regular hours. Lone Star College - Cy-Fair Library & Lone Star College - Tomball will be open regular hours on Thursday and will be closed Friday, April 18-Sunday, April 20.
Mark this date and time on your calendars – Monday, April 19th at 10 AM at 4400 Bens View Lane. This is the day that we are back in business. We welcome back all our regular library customers and the new visitors we hope will become repeat customers.
The day will open with a bang with Congressman Ted Poe, Mayor Annise Parker, City Councilmember Mike Sullivan, County Commissioner Eversole, Dr. Lawson, Director of Houston Public Library and last, but certainly not least our own Rhoda Goldberg, Director of the Harris County Public Library offering short remarks.
FOLK – Friends of the Library-Kingwood have planned a day of activities with storytimes and face painting throughout the day. Sparky the Fire Dog will make a special appearance at 3 PM in the Children’s Activity room; there will be gaming demonstrations from 11 AM – 3 PM in the Teen Media Room. A teen gaming tournament will be held from 3 – 9 PM and a Technology Petting Zoo will be set up in the Training Lab that will demonstrate Kindles and Sony eReaders and other interesting tech gadgets throughout the day.
The Bear Branch Elementary Honor Choir will perform at 5 PM and the Kingwood HS Choir will perform at 7 PM.
And the best of all – we are back to business as usual with new books, DVDs, CDs – books and music. Please come see us, we’ve missed you all!
