World Wide Read: Post Your Pictures on our Facebook Wall

Photo Credit: Reading in Rome by snickclunk via Flickr Creative CommonsChances are good that some of you will be taking a well-deserved vacation over the holidays, and if you are reading this, chances are even better you will be taking a book or two along. We have a (fun) assignment for all of you globetrotters out there: we want a picture of you reading a book in whatever exotic locale you visit. Whether you’re on the ski slopes of Vail, a cruise ship in the Caribbean, a double-decker bus in London, even a La-z-boy in Peoria—we want you to post your photo on our Facebook wall.

Facebook? you say, HCPL has a Facebook page? Why, yes, we do and it’s pretty nifty if we do say so ourselves. Visit us there, click on that cute little thumbs up 'like' button at the top and you’ll get the latest library news, information about upcoming events, new title announcements as well as other cool and interesting stuff.

One more thing: Please, don’t get crazy with this: No hanging off cliffs reading Into Thin Air or reading Jaws in a shark cage surrounded by maneaters. Have fun with it, but be safe.

One more, one more thing: This is an ongoing project, so if you aren't traveling until summer, remember to post a photo. We'll create an album on our page for everyone to see.

Kudos and many thanks to HCPL customer Holly B. for coming up with this great idea.
