You have 3 1/2 weeks to Get a Clue at the Library!

The 2012 Summer Reading Program ends on Saturday, August 11.  We now have about 3 1/2 weeks left to finish up reading!    But don't worry, there's still time to sign up.  There is a Summer Reading Program for all ages - from infants through adults.

Children from infants through 12 years old can sign up for the Children's Summer Reading Program.  There's no charge.  Just come to the Children's area to get a book log.  We have teen volunteers and librarians to assist you in signing up.  Children can read 10 books or 500 minutes (8 hours and 20 minutes).  Once you've finished reading, just come in to get a certificate and a free book. For each 10 books or 500 minutes, children can put their name on a paper footprint that we're taping on the walls of the Children's Department.  We're trying to put the footprints all around the Children's Department..  Thanks to the great readers we have at Freeman Library, we're about 2/3 around the Children's Department.  If you can't make it to the library, you can sign up online

To encourage our readers and their parents to come to the library on a weekly basis, we have some fun programs on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.  The programs will be going on through Wednesday, August 8.  These programs are sponsored by the generous donations of the Friends of the Freeman Library.  You can support the Friends by purchasing some of the many great items that are available at the Friends Bookstore.  To find out more about the summer programs, check out our calendar  For more information, call the Children's Department at 281-488-1906.
