Rita: Hurricane Preparedness & Tracking the Storm

With Tropical Storm Rita on her way to becoming a hurricane, and headed our way, here are some websites that offer advice in making preparations and tracking the storm.

- Harris County Flood Control District Hurricane Tracking Chart - Online and Download versions allow you to track the path of the 2005 hurricanes. Download version lets you look at past hurricanes, online version only tracks active hurricanes.

- National Hurricane Center

- National Weather Service Forecast for Houston/Galveston

- US Coast Guard Storm Center

- American Red Cross - Has information on what to do before, during an after a hurricane.

- Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management - Includes a hurricane information page.

- City of Houston Office of Emergency Management - Includes information on how to prepare for a hurricane and an evacuation map.
