2006 Best Books for Young Adults Book List

Each year, the Young Adult Library Services Association creates a Best Books for Young Adults book list. The committee accepts input from teens on the nominated titles. The final list is comprised of titles that are good literary quality and are popular for teens age 12-18. The list is composed of both fiction and nonfiction books.

This year nonfiction offerings include memoirs - Lessons in Taxidermy by Bee Lavender - science - Guinea Pig Scientists: Bold Self-Experimenters in Science and Medicine by Leslie Dendy and Mel Boring - and history - Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler's Shadow by Susan Campbell Bartoletti.

Fiction is equally varied with science fiction - Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - general fiction - Wrecked by E. R. Frank - and humorous adventure - Flush by Carl Hiaasen.

Check out these great books and more on the 2006 Best Books for Young Adults book list.
