Books @ the Movies This Weekend

This weekend two book related movies open - Charlotte's Web and Eragon - both of which I have been anticipating. Eragon is based on the book of the same name by Christopher Paolini about a boy who becomes a dragon rider. Charlotte's Web is the classic children's story by E.B. White about Wilbur the pig and his friend Charlotte the spider. Charlotte's Web was was previously made into an animated movie back in the 1970s by Hanna Barbara.

E. B. White. Charlotte's Web
Wilbur, the pig, is desolate when he discovers that he is destined to be the farmer's Christmas dinner until his spider friend, Charlotte, decides to help him.

Charlotte's Web
Featuring the voices of Debbie Reynolds (Charlotte), Paul Lynde (Templeton), Henry Gibson (Wilbur), Agnes Moorehead (the goose).

Christopher Paolini. Eragon
In Aagaesia, a fifteen-year-old boy of unknown lineage called Eragon finds a mysterious stone that weaves his life into an intricate tapestry of destiny, magic, and power, peopled with dragons, elves, and monsters.
