Ron Stone 1936-2008
Longtime Houston news anchor, Ron Stone has died. Ron Stone anchored the news for 20 years on KPRC--retiring in 1992. He also hosted the Eyes of Texas which highlighted many places and people across the state.
Ron Stone wrote three books about Texas:
The Book of Texas Days
Presents at least one event, anecdote, or item of information for each day of the year, covering the full 150-plus-year range of Texas history.
Disaster at Texas City
Book about the 1947 Texas City disaster.
Houston: Simply Spectacular
Stone tells the story of Houston with the same large appetite for life that inhabitants of this great city exhibit. Such zeal for living helped make Houston one of the great inventions of the 19th century, and ensures that the city will remain simply spectacular.
