Death of Dr. Parker Williams
"We are saddened today by the death of Dr. Parker Williams. She was instrumental in getting the Parker Williams Branch Library in the Scarsdale community in 1993. Through the years, she has remained an active member of the Friends of the Parker Williams Branch Library. She touched so many lives with her very positive outspoken nature. She will be missed."

2004 Best Books for Young Adults
This list of Best Books for Young Adults is created by a committee from the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association. Teens attend special sessions to give the committee their opinions of the nominated titles. To be on the final list of Best Books the book must be of good literary quality and be popular reading for teens, ages 12-18.

Julia Child 1912-2004
Julia Child who introduced French cooking to the American TV public, died in her sleep early this morning. She was the author of numerous cookbooks including Mastering the Art of French Cooking. Her last book was written in 2000.
