Help - Summer Reading Program

  • You may visit your local branch library to sign up.
  • You may sign up online by visiting the Library website. Select your reading program from the tabs at the top of the page and then click on the Sign Me Up button. Create a username and password. Enter your information. You do not need a library card to sign up for the Summer Reading Program.
     

You will have to create a username and password when you sign up.

You do not need a library card to sign up for the Summer Reading Program or to attend any library programs. However, you need a library card to borrow materials from the library or from the Digital Media Catalog

The database is secured by encrypted password access. Your name will not be visible to anyone else using the website. However, it is still important that you not share your username or password with anyone.

This is information is used for drawings and to contact you in case there are any problems. Your information will not be sold to anyone. Information collected on Summer Reader is deleted after the program is over. This is why customers have to register every year.

  • No! You can sign up at your local branch library and participate at the library without using the website at all.
  • Only customers registered online will be entered into any branch drawings.

There are two reasons this may happen:

  • This message appears if you have just registered one person and try to register another person without logging out the first record.  When you register, you are automatically logged on. Log out and try to register the second person again.
  • If logging out does not work, there may be another person with a similar name. Please call your local library for assistance.
  • Log into the Summer Reading Program Website with your existing password.
  • Click on the “Your Info” button.
  • Click on “Change Password” to set a new password.
  • Click the “Save” button to get back to the main menu
  • If you provided an email address when you signed up for the Summer Reading Program, click on the “Forgot Your Login Info?” button on the Summer Reading Program Website. Enter your email address in the box and click “Go.” An email will be sent to your email address with your username and password.
  • Contact your local branch library. They can look you up.
  • If you provided an email address when you signed up for the Summer Reading Program, you should have received a confirmation email with your username and password. Check your inbox for this email.
  • Log into the Summer Reading Program Website.
  • Click on “Add/View Log.”
  • Enter the number of books or minutes that you read and the title of the book, magazine, newspaper, or other printed material that you read.
    • If you would like, you may add a review at this time. Tell us if you like the book. Please do not tell the entire story so that others can enjoy reading it for themselves.
    • Select Yes or No if you do or do not want other people to see your review. Note: if you select “Yes,” your review will not appear to the public until a staff member approves it.
  • Click “Save” to save your minutes.
  • You will now see your minutes added to your log.
  • Click “Back” to go back to the main menu.
     
  • You are not required to review books. If you want to add a review, follow the directions below.

  • Click on “Add/View Log.”
  • After you have entered the number of books or minutes that you read and the title, you may add a review.  Tell us if you like the book. You can say what you didn’t like about it also. Please do not tell the entire story so that others can enjoy reading it for themselves.

  • Click “Save” to save your review.
  • Click “Back” to go back to the main menu.

Once you have entered a review, you can change it by clicking on “My Reviews” after logging in to the Summer Reading Program Website. Click “View” next to the review you want to change and press “Save” to save the changes when you are finished.

Only reviews of books owned by the library are posted. All posted reviews are linked to the records in the library catalog for customers to learn more about the books or request them.
 

You do not have to write a review.  It is optional.

Visit your local library to pick up your prizes.
