Bulletin Board, Display Case, and Book Display:  Tying in with Kingwood Library's popular award-winning memorial garden, the "Garden of Hope," the Bulletin Board will include "Celebrate National Library Week April 2-8" plus the "Program Title" quote and other famous quotes about libraries (within garden design), Book Display will include an assortment of books about gardening and reading, and the Kingwood Garden Club's Display-of-the-Month in our lobby display case will be incorporated into the general theme.  All ages.

Highland Historical Museum and Train Restoration

Learn about how far along the development of the historical museum is and how you might be able to be a part of adding to the museum.  Discover what is goin to be done regarding train restoration and where it will be located.  Enjoy fellowship and refreshments during this enlightening event.  All ages.

Afternoon Book Discussion

Mary Roach will lead a discussion of the book Baker Towers by Jennifer Haigh at the first meeting of the book discussion group.  Participants are encouraged to bring suggestions of comtemporary fiction or biography books to be voted on for future discussions.  Light refreshements will be served.  Adult program.

Teen National Library Week & Recycled Craft Project

Make and take craft:  Join us as we celebrate National Library Week with a recycled craft project.  Bring your creativity, clean reusable objects (beads, string, old stamps, magazines, plastic or glass containers, etc.)  Library books will be available to help generate ideas.  The program will be held in the second floor Conference Room.  Remember to pre-register either in person at any reference desk, or with a call to the library 832-559-4200 as supplies and space are limited.  Recommended for teens.

The professional puppeteers from Carranza Puppets will present "The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood."  All ages.

History of Tomball - Slides & Lecture

Leslie Upchurch, author of Welcome to Tomball will present a slide show and lecture on the history of Tomball.  Immediately following the lecture, Mrs. Upchurch will sign copies of her book.  Copies of the new printing, which includes an index, will be available for  purchase through the Friends of Tomball Library, or you may bring your older copy for signing.  Meet in the first floor Meeting Room.  Light refreshments will be served.  Adult program.

Genealogy:  Tools of the Trade

Free genealogy class!  Learn how to use the two genealogical databases offered through the library.  Basic computer skills are necessary.  Adult program.
