Shared Umbrella Series

Set one, including A Holiday for Mee, Go to Work Fred, and Carmen's Day, focuses on work and family.  Set two, including The Citizenship Class, Toward a Better America, and Voting in America, focuses on citizenship.  A list of words by part of speech, words that might need review, some related topics to discuss, and other teaching suggestions are included in each book for set two. In set one, they are in the Picture Dictionary and Guide for Tutors.

Grass Roots Press Romance Series

Each page contains a photo and one sentence.  Books in this series are The Big Goof, The Big Snore, The Big Question and The Big Surprise.

Grass Roots Press Be the Judge Series

In this series, characters must make a decision.  Books include Tony's Deal, Fran's Story, Mandy's Garage Sale, and Just Good Friends.

My Name is Selina Mabiletsa

Carnival

Jack Sloan Westerns

There are four books in this series: Justice on Horseback, Shotgun Revenge, Tin Star Promise, and Mississippi Stranger.  They are at reading level 2 or 3.

Five Dog Night and Other Tales

Four very short stories with a word list at the back of the book.  Level 2 or 3.

Stormy Night Stories

These short mysteries, with about 15 pages each, are at level 2 to 4.  From easiest to most difficult, titles are A Dash of Murder, The Stolen Romney, The Problem of the Pink Post Office, Who Can You Trust?, Toasted Onions, Miniscam, The Crystal Set, Line of Fire, Mr. Strang Picks Up the Pieces, and New Orleans Getaway.  a Teacher's Guide also is available.

Working for Myself

Stories about people starting their own businesses.  There are 10 titles in all in this series, each covering a different type of business.

Janet Dailey's Love Scenes

There are six romance books: Carousel Magic, Riding High, The Healing Touch, Heaven Sent, The Lady and the Cowboy, and A Friend in Need.  They are at reading levels 3-5.

Sundown Books

Ben's Gift, about a boy with cerebral palsy who brightens the lives of others; Don't Sell Me Short, about a man who must make it on his own after getting out of the Army; The Freedom Side, about the underground railroad; In and Out the Windows, a mystery about a high school senior people think is crazy; and That Man, a mystery that takes place on a trip to Florida.

My Cousin Thabo

The library has 20 videos.  Each has a booklet.  There is also a booklet in the first video that helps students get started with TV411.  The TV411 website has more.  TV411 is at reading, writing or math grade levels six to eight.

Crossroads Cafe

This is a comedy television show for learning English.  There are 26 episodes on separate videocassettes.  The most important books to have with the videotapes are the Worktext and Photo Stories.  Worktext A goes with the first 13 videos in in the series.  Worktext B goes with the last 13 videos.
