Summer Fun for Everyone @ Aldine

is just around the corner; it's time once again for the Summer Reading Program! It all kicks off on Monday, June 2nd. There are four reading programs and a bunch of fun activities for kids and teens.

Storygami @ Aldine

There was a celebration on the night of Monday, May 19th at the Aldine Library. Families gathered together for "Storygami" in honor of Asian Pacific Heritage Month. Parents and children enjoyed learning about origami and creating different animals by folding paper. It was a fun-filled evening for everyone.

Tea: the Golden Treasure

May is Asian Pacific Heritage Month! We're celebrating at the Aldine LIbrary by gathering in the Meeting Room on 5/15 at 3:30 PM to watch a movie about about the importance of tea in the life and culture of Taiwan. Afterwards, we will enjoy drinking a pot tea and having some snacks. Come join us!

Aldine Chimes into the #WeNeedDiverseBooks Campaign

Today was the official launch of the the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign! A hashtag campaign trying to give voice to the need for books that reflect the many varied experiences people have walking this Earth, and call attention to the fact that the books being published right now don't reflect diversity we see at Aldine everyday. Please read more about the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign on it's website.

I was so excited about this campaign I wanted to get the whole Aldine community involved! Here are a few thoughts by a few teens about why we need diverse books!
