Computer Classes

We will start having computer classes here at the Aldine Library starting July 1. They will be taught in our computer lab by Ms. Joiner and you can pick up a class schedule at our information desk. You must sign up to attend and you can do that at the info desk also. Classes taught will be Computer Basic, Internet Basic, E-mail Basic, Word Basic, Internet 2 and Word Basic 2. Come and learn with us!

New Magazine!

Recently we had some budget cuts and we had to cancel the subscriptions to some of our magazines. We’re happy to announce that we have one new magazine to tell you about. It's the Houstonia magazine which started publication a few months ago. It covers all the neat things going on in our fair city, and you can come and read the magazine for free at your library!

Teen Creations

As always, our teens here at Aldine are always doing something creative. The other day they were creating zines (small press, do it yourself, alternative magazines.)  Everyone got into it and had a great time. There will be a Houston ZineFest in Oct. and our teens will have the opportunity to swap zines with other zine creators. Thepicture of zines next teen event will be Monday, July 1 at 2 pm when we will celebrate all things Harry Potter!

Zumba takes a break

On Thursday June 20th, the Aldine Library had its first Zumba class. Adults enjoyed gathering in the Meeting Room and participating in a fast-paced workout with dance and aerobic elements. This week, the Zumba class will not be meeting. Also, the library will be closed on Thursday, July 4th. Zumba at the Aldine Library will resume on Thursday, July 11th at 5 PM.

Ronald is Coming!

We are all very excited because Ronald McDonald is coming to the Aldine Library on Wed, June 26th at 3 pm! Be sure to bring the kids for Ronald's special show. This is traditionally a big program for our children and we always have a great time. So don't miss it. See you then!
