Special Volunteer Opportunity at Aldine!

Hey everyone! There is a special volunteer opportunity up ahead. The Aldine Library is proud to sponsor this year's Hispanic Heritage Festival. We need volunteers to help before, during, and after the event. Volunteers must be *AGES 15 and UP and need parent permission to help out. For this special event, volunteers must arrive no later than 9 am. Volunteers will help with:

o Set up & Games booths
o Craft tables & Face Painting
o Food & Drink Service
o Clean up & Other assignments as needed

Aldine Teens Recognized for Innovation

Teen VolunteersThe Harris County Public Library annual report for 2011-2012 has been released and we are proud to announce that the teens of the Aldine Branch Library were singled out for their efforts. The report highlights their 2nd Place finish in the American Library Association's "Why I Need My Library" Video Contest, as well as the branch's participation (spearheaded by the teens) in the Houston Art Car Parade.

As Summer Ends Web 2.Yo! Begins

Courtesy of Jupiter ImagesTeens, now that the Summer Reading Program is completed, Web 2.Yo! will be returning to its regular weekly meetings. Starting September 10th the Internet class for those who want more will be back every Monday from 4pm-5pm. We will kick off the session with a number of activities, including starring in a music video, as well as visiting resources dedicated to remembering 9/11.
