Aldine Display CaseCome and take a look at the Aldine Branch’s current display in its lobby. You will find a brand new art exhibit presenting the efforts of local teens. The teens were given the task of expressing what the library means to them through one of the coolest mediums—buttons.

So don’t miss out and take a second to see their work. You’ll be amazed by just how creative the teens got.

Scholarship Search Seminar at Aldine

We’ll show you sites dedicated to providing information on finding various scholarships for school. In the spirit of Hispanic Heritage Month there will even be a focus on opportunities that celebrate a culture.

Haven’t even decided where you want to go to college or what to study? No problem. There are plenty of resources we can show you that will help. Just show up at 4PM ready to find some great sites and we’ll introduce you to them. See you there!

GULF COAST READS AUTHOR VISIT

Author Chitra DivakaruniThe area-wide Gulf Coast Reads event throughout September features the book, One Amazing Thing, by Chitra Divakaruni. The author will be at the Barbara Bush Library, 6817 Cypresswood Drive in Spring,  on Thursday, September 8 at 4:30pm to speak about her book. The meeting will be held in the Forum of the Community Center across the driveway from the library. The event is free and no registration is required.

Un Curso de Meditación

Junten con nosotros para celebrar el Mes de la Herencia Hispana en la Biblioteca de Aldine. ¿Se siente estresado? La Sra. Ginger Clark, profesor de la Universidad de las Américas en el estado de Puebla, México, ofrecerá una clase introductoria bilingüe sobre Vipassana, una técnica de meditación antigua. La clase estará en la Sala de reuniones en el sabado, 10 de septiembre a las 3 PM. Nos vemos allí!
