Web 2.Yo! is on the Move

Moving Boxes
This past year of Web 2.Yo! has been a blast. We’ve gotten lost in some really great music, stared in short films, painted masterpieces, and so much more without leaving our computers. And all for free! Each Wednesday teens have gotten together to hunt for some really great sites and now it is time to shake things up a bit by meeting on a new day. Starting Monday, December 6th, Web 2.Yo! will gather in the Aldine Branch meeting room from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. We hope you can join us.

Reservation Station Migration

If you have been in the Aldine Library recently, you may have noticed a rearrangement of sorts. The reservation station has moved to the opposite side of the computers. It now faces the adult fiction section. This was done to so that a new, flat screen monitor could be installed and hooked up to the reservation computer. While not yet fully installed, the flat screen monitor will soon be used to display the reservation system queue. Also, in time, the reservation station will be moved back to its original location facing the circulation desk. When the process is complete, the reservation queue will be visible on both the computer monitor and the flat screen television on the wall.

Have you ever heard of the Dance Salad Festival? It's an annual event in Houston in which local, national and international choreographers across dance disciplines perform at the downtown Wortham Center.

The Aldine Library is offering a unique opportunity to see highlights of the Dance Salad performances. On November 11th, we'll be showing a film featuring contemporary and classical ballet performances from the Dance Salad Festival

Stop by the Aldine Library's Meeting Room on 11/11/10 at 4:30 PM to see a film showing some brilliant choreography and mixed repertoire, a dance “salad." See you there!
