Robots at Aldine are an Automatic Success

The Aldine Branch Library must thank Jefferson Davis High School’s robotics club, Robatos Locos, for taking the time to visit with the teens. This is the third year Robatos Locos has been out to visit, and each year the club somehow outdoes the last. A record number were in attendance for exciting demonstrations and a chance to operate robots of all shapes and sizes.

The Aldine Library celebrated its 34th anniversary with cake, coffee, and camaraderie. Ms. Rhoda Goldberg, HCPL Library Directory, was on site for the festivities. Staff and patrons reminisced about days gone by while viewing photographs of past branch events. Folks also enjoyed looking through a scrapbook of library happenings that featured newspaper clippings, photographs, and fliers. The Aldine Library looks forward to serving you in the years ahead!

Web 2.Yo! Cruising Along

Students at Netbooks

It’s been two weeks since Web 2.Yo! started back, and we’ve had a blast. There are so many cool things on-line to stumble across each class. So far teens have discovered some new sites involving music and art. This week we’ll focus on videos. If you missed the music and art classes don’t worry because we’ll bring them back soon. Stay tuned.

AC Out, Spring Air In

air condition unit

Folks visiting the Aldine library today may notice a slight elevation in room temperature. The air conditioning is out of order. The county is swiftly working to resolve the issue. The AC will be up and running as soon as possible. Until then, enjoy the fresh spring breeze as we prop open the library doors.
