Crafts for Teens & Tweens!

Shrinky-dinks 2Next week is our first week to host our two new craft programs for teens and tweens. “Craftastic” for ages 6-12 will meet on Monday, August 14, from 4:00-5:00. For ages 12-18, it will be on Wednesday, August 16, from 4:30-5:30. We will have different kinds of craft projects each month. This time, create your own shrink-dinks for jewelry or decorations. Come and check it out!

New Events and Programs for Kids

New kids programsWe are trying out lots of new programs for kids, tweens, and teens. Check out our calendar of events. We are offering Tweens Read, Kids’ Book Club, Kids’ Movie Night, Rising Readers, Craftastic (for 2 different age groups), Coding for Kids, Tween/Teen Movie Night, Weird Science (in the blog post below), an evening storytime, and a new teen book club, “Books ‘n’ Stuff.”
We also still have Animé Club, Art Club, and Game Night.

Summer Programs Are Ending

School bus + boyThursday, August 3, is the last day of Krafty Korner, the adult craft program,
Friday, August 4, is the last day of Kids Café, the free lunch program for children and
Saturday, August 5, is the last day of the Summer Reading Program. Be sure to log all the books that you read between June 5 and August 5. You will have until at least August 12 to claim your prizes!

Puppies & Kittens and Dogs & Cats!

Puppy kittenThis Saturday, July 29, at 11 am, the county animal shelter will make a presentation at the library about how to keep your pets healthy, safe, and happy. If you already have a pet, come to make sure you’re doing everything right. If not, come and check out some of the sweet pets in need of a good home!

New for “Tweens!”

Alvin HoStarting Wednesday, August 2, we are introducing a new book club for “tweens” ages 10-14. On the first Wednesday of each month, from 4:30-5:30 pm, we’ll get together to talk about a selected book, learn about new books and authors, play games, have a snack and more! On August 2, we will talk about “Alvin Ho, Allergic to Girls, School, and Other Scary Things.” Don't worry if you haven't read the book; come anyway.
