Hey everybody! Come meet our new huggable, lovable friend Gene the Bear. Gene the Bear loves to read books, eat berries and honey, take extremely long naps, and chase butterflies when he is not napping. He enjoys picnics and helping people. One day, Gene the Bear decided he wanted to help his community but did not know how. He went to visit his friend Congressman Gene Green for advice. After a long conversation, they decided that the best way for Gene the Bear to help his community was to become a reading companion for children at the Galena Park Library...

Do you want to become more active and get in shape but the Houston heat doesn’t let you? Don’t worry, we have a solution for you. Starting Wednesday, September 2nd at 4:00 pm we will be offering weekly adult indoor exercise sessions that will keep you active and healthy. Summer Reading is almost over and we will be having our last summer children’s program tomorrow Thursday, August 6th at 3:00 pm. We will be using exploding paint to create some really cool paintings.
