Springtime Puppet Show

In Jacinto City, spring has arrived!  On Thursday, March 17 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm bring the kids to the Jacinto City Branch Library will be holding it's Springtime Puppet Show.  There will be three shows: "The Little Red Flower," "The Luck of the Irish", and "The Tortoise and the Hare." Children of all ages are welcome.

MaKey MaKey:  Computer Games and Music

On Thursday, March 10th from 3:00 to 7:30 pm, we will be have a few Makey-Makey kits set up on the computer laptops for teens to come and play computer games and music through fun alternative methods! 


Dr. Seuss Birthday Party - 2 Day Event!!

Hey kids! Come to Jacinto City Library on Wednesday, March 2nd at 10:30 am and Thursday, March 3rd at 3 pm to celebrate the birthday of one of the greatest children's book writers of all time - Dr. Seuss! There will be a party with cake, also make a Cat in the Hat party hat, and, of course, popular stories by Dr. Seuss! All children of all ages are welcome to come and participate in the festivities.  No need to register. For more information call 713-673-3237. Downloading Library Digital Media Class

Are you an avid reader who has a digital device - tablet or smartphone - who likes to read? Are you tired of having to pay for eBooks or eAudio and wish there was a better way to read popular titles for free? On the HCPL website, we have a many digital catalogs where you can check out and download eBooks and eAudio books for 2 weeks for free! On Thursday, March 3rd, at 6:00 - 7:00 pm, Jacinto City Branch Library will be holding a class to help you download and check out these free materials through one of these digital catalogs called Overdrive. Just be sure to bring your HCPL library card and your tablet or smartphone to class. Any Android, iPad/iPhone, Kindle Fire will do. Don't have a library card?

Black History Month Event - Family Soulfood Potluck

Join us on Saturday, February 20th, 12:30 to 2:00 pm for food, family, and fun at the Jacinto City Branch Library for a Family Soul Food Potluck! Come and bring your best Soul Food dishes, try some other great recipes, and enjoy some famous Jazz music. Bring the whole family. Everyone is welcome! There will also be a paper  beading craft for the kids to teach the meaning of the Pan-African Colors: Red, Black, Green and Gold.
