One of our country's Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson, was born 269 years ago today on April 13, 1743. He was a member of the Continental Congress during the American Revolution and helped write the Declaration of Independence in 1776. After the war, Jefferson served as the United States Minister to France in 1785 and later became the first Secretary of State under President George Washington in 1790. Jefferson would become the third president of the United States in 1801 until 1809. He is also known for the Louisiana Purchase, which added over 828,000 square miles of new territory to the United States.

Bring your iPad, Kindle, or Nook and learn how to download eMedia from our Digital Media Catalog using Overdrive. The class will be held on Wednesday, March 7 at 3:00 p.m. Class will go over how our eMedia service works and how to use it. Patrons will also have the chance to see for themselves some of the popular eReader devices, and the instructor will be available to answer questions. Be sure to bring your library cards as they will be needed to download eBooks from our digital catalog.
