Volunteering for the Summer Reading Program

Schools almost out, the weather is getting warmer (kind of) and the librarians are busy planning.  You know what that means... It's almost time for the Summer Reading Program.  This summer, as always, there are many opportunities to volunteer.  In addition to the shelving and other year round volunteer jobs, we need help with programs.  If you are interested give us a call at 281-550-0885 and ask for any of the librarians.

M is for Mother, most Marvelous mother to me
O is for the One and Only good thing that ever happened to me
T is for the Tender love she’s given me since birth
H is for the Heaven that all mothers represent on earth
E is for an Exceptional lady, who else can that be
R is for the Reassuring comfort only mama can bring to me

I was taught this song in my elementary school and I have never forgotten it ever since even though I no longer have a clue that who wrote or sang this song but the words will never cease to warm my heart.

Mysterious Knitter at the Library...

The Library got Yarn Bombed!  This week we have been finding these cuddly yarn creatures all over the library.  Each was left with a note saying, "Smile you've just found a Random Act of Yarnie Kindness.  My name is _______ and I was left here to brighten someone's day.  Please take me home and enjoy me."  So from all of us here at Bear Creek to our mysterious knitter, thank you.

Lei Day 2013!

In Hawaii, May 1 is Lei Day!  Come and celebrate Lei Day at Tweeners on Wednesday at 5 pm.  All kids 10-12 are welcome!
