Change is good @ your library

School is starting soon, and that means that fall is almost here! Just as the leaves change on the trees, things can change at the library, too! We’re pleased to announce the following changes to our programs beginning in September:

Explore The Outdoors!

The Scouts of Troop 120 will be teaching several exciting family classes on outdoor skills. Join us on August 21st for three different classes.
First Aid & Survival Skills @ 10:30 – 12:00 – By the end of this class you’ll know how to stay safe, treat injuries, and what to do if you ever get lost. We’ll wrap up with a fun game to help reinforce what you’ve learned
Appreciating Nature @ 1:00 – 2:00 pm – In this session, you’ll learn how to spot constellations, recognize cloud patterns, and identify plants and animals when you’re outside. Don’t miss the fun game show style trivia game at the end!
How to Enjoy the Outdoors Around Houston @ 2:30 – 3:45 – thankfully, there are a lot of terrific ways to enjoy nature right here near where we live, and in this session you can find out about some of those excellent opportunities.

Computer Classes

Need to learn how to use a computer or just brush up on your skill? Join us on the first and third Tuesday of each month from 10 am to 11 am.

Bear Creek Book Club

The Bear Creek Book Club met on Wednesday, August 4th to discuss the book Carmelo by Sandra Cisneros. They meet the first Wednesday of each month at 7 PM. The book selection for September is Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene. All are welcome to attend!
