Computer Class

Come to our Computer Classes this Friday, July 1 at 1:30 pm to learn about the "Cut, Copy, Paste" functions and at 4:00 pm Computer Security.  All our classes are free and all adults are welcome.

Mobile Clinic @ the Library

The West Houston Community Health Center mobile clinic is going to be at the Katherine Tyra library tomorrow, June 29, from 10:00am-1:00pm. The clinic offers free blood pressure, glucose, BMI, and cholesterol screening for adults with or without insurance.

Computer Classes on Friday

computerKatherine Tyra library is having 2 computer classes on Friday, June 24th, in our meeting room. All the classes are free and open to the public. This Friday, all of our classes are dedicated to Microsoft Word. Come join us and sharpen your skills on the computer.  See schedule below:

Houston Food Bank Will Provide Nutritious, Free Lunches to Kids at Our Library This Summer

Harris County Public Library is proud to announce that thirteen HCPL branches will provide nutritious, free lunches to children in low income areas of Harris County through the Houston Food Bank’s Kids Café program. Only children 1 – 18 years are eligible. Meals and snacks are provided on a first come, first served basis. Supplies are limited, but will be adjusted depending on demand.

June 7 – August 4
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
Lunch 12:00 – 1:00 pm
Snack 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Summer Fun: Wildlife Program

Do you want to learn more about reptiles? Then join us at Summer Fun on Tuesday, June 21st at 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM for Bring on the Reptiles, a fun and educational wildlife program all about reptiles! We'll meet a few animals, learn interesting facts about reptiles, and discuss how to be safe around wildlife.

Remember, a free ticket is required to attend this program. Tickets will be available at the information desk one hour before each program starts. First come, first served. Summer Fun is geared towards school-age children, and families are welcome!
