Dr. Seuss Birthday celebration

Bear Creek preschoolers made their own rascally Cat in the Hat  craft during storytime this past Tuesday in celebration of Dr. Seuss’ 106th birthday.

The Many, Many Talents of the Bear Creek Staff real… or imagined…

This month we will be featuring Sunyoung Park.

Have you had a chance to check out our fantastic window art? Come and see the latest and greatest art work by our very own Sunyoung Park! She has created a magical window display for Read Across America which is celebrated on March 2nd. Sunyoung has an Art Degree from the University of Texas-Austin. When she is not working away diligently at the library she is dreaming of someday painting a mural on the ceiling of the public restrooms. Sunyoung has visited Alaska and Hawaii.

Bear Creek Community Art Show

This past Saturday, Bear Creek Library was host to a community art show. Many talented community artists came out to show off their works. One of the artists even showed children how to draw horses! To find more exciting Bear Creek Library events, be sure and check out our online event calendar!

Look at what we did this week!

This week our Tweeners and Kid's Corner groups celebrated the Asian New Year.  They learned some of the traditions in celebrating the new year while making paper lanterns.  The Houston Chinese Consulate also very generously donated fans, keychains, posters, and books to give away.  Everyone had a wonderful time.

Next week on Monday and Wednesday we are going to make ducks out of pipe cleaners.  All kids and tweens from grade school on up are welcome!

Come help us celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday (Mar. 2nd)

Come join on March 2nd during preschool storytime next week as we celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss with a special appearance from the Cat from The Cat in The Hat. Listen as the Cat reads Dr. Seuss stories, make a craft and and browse through a special display of Dr. Seuss books and movies. All of your favorites will be available for checkout...and perhaps a few you've never heard of!
