Toddlers Exploring the Colors of the Rainbow at Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library

Honey with a rainbow heartJoin us on Wednesday, March 2 at 10:30 AM or 11:00 AM for a fun session of Toddler Time.  We’ve been learning our colors as we explore the rainbow.  Which color will Honey, our bear cub mascot, choose next? Honey’s only hint is that the next color that we will be learning about  is the color of an animal that says, “Ribbit!” Come jump into the fun at Katherine Tyra Library @ Bear Creek.


Toddler Time is a program for children from 18 months to 3 years of age.  This is a ticketed program. Tickets are available at the information desk starting at 10:00 AM on the day of the program.

Lego Movie Maker

Come to the Tuesday Tween Craft every Tuesday in April at 4:30pm to create your very own Lego movie. We'll be working together to plan, build, and shoot lego films. All kids 7-12 are welcome!

New Volunteer Orientation *New Times*

BooksKatherine Tyra Library's New Volunteer Orientation is moving to a new time starting next month. We will be having our next Orientation, Wednesday, March 2nd, at 6:30 PM. 

It is required to attend one of our orientations to be able to volunteer at the library. If you haven't filled out a volunteer application we have some at the service desk and information desk. Anyone under 18 needs parental permission.

Preschool Storytime: Big & Small

Join us for silly songs, books, and a craft at Preschool Storytime on Tuesday, February 23rd at 10:30 AM! Our theme this week is Big and Small. This is a ticketed program, so make sure to get a ticket from the information desk before it starts. Preschool Storytime is for children ages 3-5 years.

We Do Robotics! at Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Library this March

RobotsWe are currently accepting applications for our exciting We Do Robotics program.  This program is for children ages 7 to 12 and will consists of four sessions held at the Katherine Tyra @ Bear Creek Branch Library on Wednesday, March 2; Wednesday, March 9; Wednesday, March 23; and Wednesday, March 30 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.   This is a free program that is open to the first 10 applicants.  Participants must be able to attend all four session.  A waiting list will be kept for those who still wish to sign up after the first 10.

This project is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (2016).
