Join us on Tuesday, June 11th at 3:00 PM for our special summer craft and learn how to make Rangoli-inspired art! Rangoli, which is also known as kollam, is a folk art from India. Rangoli are decorative designs made on floors consisting of bright colors. The patterns are usually made with materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand, or flower petals. We’ll be using colored rice for our Rangoli art. If you’d like to learn more about Rangoli art, watch the instructional video!
Come and travel to Krypton on Monday at 3:30 pm in honor of the new Superman movie coming out later next week. We'll be making super hero felties and having hero sandwiches all while watching a very famous movie starring Christopher Reeves in the late seventies.
Have Book, Will Travel isn’t just our SRP theme this year…it’s also a way of life for so many book lovers! Are you taking a vacation somewhere this summer? If so, take along your trusty books (or audiobooks or ebooks) and snap a picture of them on vacation with you (please, no people in the picture.) Then, email your picture to email@example.com with the subject line Have Book, Will Travel and we’ll print it out and post it on our bulletin board! If you don’t want to take a picture of your books, send us a picture of a landmark that you have visited (also no people in picture, please.) Don’t forget to tell us where you or the book traveled to!
