Houston Food Bank Will Provide Nutritious Free Lunches to Kids at Katy Branch Library this Summer

Harris County Public Library is proud to announce that Katy Branch Library will provide nutritious, free lunches to area children through the Houston Food Bank’s Kids Café program. Only children 1 – 18 years are eligible. Meals and snacks are provided on a first come, first served basis. Supplies are limited, but will be adjusted depending on demand.

July 20 – August 19
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays
Breakfast 10:00 – 11:00 am

Adult Summer Preview

First, every Friday at 2:00pm and every Saturday at 10:00am we'll have 2 hours of adult coloring time to help you express your creative side. Also on the schedule: a smartphone class (July 5th), immigration Q&A time (July 9th), writing your personal history (July 29), and all of our year-round programs like knitting, crochet, computer classes, book clubs, garden club, and genealogy help. LEARN TO DOWNLOAD FREE BOOKS, MAGAZINES, AND MOVIES

Are you getting ready for summer? Well, this should include access to plenty of reading material, movies and TV shows!  Our eMedia class on Wednesday, June 1 at 4:30 p.m. will go over how to download FREE books and magazines from Overdrive. Also, how to stream movies/TV shows on Hoopla. Bringing your mobile devices (iPad/Android/Kindle, etc.) is optional but recommended.

Learn the basics of computer coding using interactive games such as Star Wars, Minecraft, Frozen, and Flappy Birds.  Basic computer knowledge is recommended.  Saturday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. in the library’s computer lab.
