Facebook class is coming back to Katy Library

FacebookHave you wanted to join Facebook but aren’t quite sure how to get started? Or maybe you already have an FB account and the recent changes to the site have thrown you off. Come to our three part course that covers all the Facebook essentials. Learn how to manage your privacy and account settings, edit your profile, search for people you know, and make friends. Also, see how to post pictures and links, leave comments and more! Classes start on Friday November 4, and will be held every other Friday until December 2. Each class will last for about two hours from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Howl-a-Ween at the Dog Park

Wizard dog from www.clker.comDoes Spot look smashing in his wizard costume?  Bring him on October 27th at 6:00pm to the annual Howl-a-Ween at the City of Katy Dog Park, located directly behind the library.  Admission is one bag of dog food to be donated to a local shelter.  For more information, call the Parks & Recreation office at 281-391-4840.

MONSTER MASH FAMILY NIGHT

Charlyn, our favorite entertainer, will bring Monster Mash to the Katy Library on Wednesday, October 19 from 6:30 to 7:30.  Monster books, monster dancing, and a monster craft will provide fun for the entire family.  You won't want to miss it!  Family night is held the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. 

Microsoft Excel Class at Katy

ExcelNext Wednesday, October 19, we will begin our five-part course on Microsoft Excel. Because Excel is one of the most widely used Office applications by employers, this could be a great opportunity for you to build your job skills. Learn how to build tables, input data and formulas, and insert charts. Classes will be held each Wednesday at 1:15 PM and 4:30 PM, and Mondays at 10:15 AM and 5:30 PM. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage

¡Arte! Art! ¡Danza! Dance!  Be sure and visit the Katy Branch so you can enjoy the paintings created by local artists that are here on display in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.  Then on Saturday, October 15 from 1:00 to 3:00pm, come watch the live performance of colorful dances honoring different Hispanic cultures.
