Spaces Still Available for Basics Computer Class Track B

Computer classIf you are planning on attending our basics computer classes, but have not registered, we still have spaces available for evening sessions. Track B classes are held Monday evenings at 5:30 and late Wednesday afternoons at 4:30. Give us a call or come into the library to reserve your place. Unfortunately, at this time track A has reached full capacity. We will offer more basics classes in the mornings starting in July. 

LET'S MAKE MUSIC!

Celebrate music in Noche de Familia/Family Night on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m.  Children will make musical intstruments and have a jam session for their parents.  All materials will be provided.  Family night is a great opportunity for families to gather and have fun together.

                          

Summer Teen Volunteer Program Starts in June

High school teens!  Are you looking for a worthwhile activity to help out your community this summer?  Needing volunteer hours for school or  to put on your college or job application?  The Katy Branch is your answer - our summer teen volunteer program needs YOU!  Call or come by the library for more information.

Basics Computer Class is Almost Here!

BasicsBeginning Monday May 16, Katy Library will offer an ongoing course in computer basics. Some topics we will cover in this free, semi-weekly course include:
Essential devices, mouse and keyboarding skills, creating folders and saving documents, basic word processing functions, e-mail basics, internet searching, and more…
All classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, lasting one hour each. To meet the demands of peoples’ differing schedules, we will offer two tracks:

Showing Japan

Make plans now to attend a Japanese tea ceremony presented by Showing Japan on Saturday, May 14 from 12:00 - 1:00pm.  Help us celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
