Free Tax Help

The AARP FoundationTax-Aides are back to help you with your taxes.  They offer free assistance to taxpayers with low and moderate income with special focus on those 60 and older.  They're here at the Katy Branch every Tuesday through April 17 and work with people on a first come - first served basis between 12:30pm and 4:30pm.  Signups begin after 10:00am each Tuesday and participants should expect to wait an extended period of time for their names to be called.

Katy Book Club

The new Katy Book Club has just formed and we want YOU to join us!  We're reading books from all genres - this time it's The Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka.  It's a quick read - only 129 pages and there's still plenty of time before we meet on Wednesday, February 29 at 6:30pm.  Ask for your copy at our check-out desk!

Kindle Workshop

Kindle WorkshopThis Saturday, February 18, we will hold a Kindle workshop. Whether you use a classic Kindle, Kindle Touch, or Kindle Fire, join us in our computer lab from 2 to 4 PM for this troubleshooting and information sharing session. Learn how to download library books, as well as manage the items on your Amazon Kindle account. Attendance is limited to 20 people, so arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the program to ensure your seat. Hope to see you there!
