The Week @ the Katy Library – December 14th Edition

Have you been tossing around the idea of going back to school?  On Friday, 12/18 at 4:00PM, a representative from the University of Phoenix will be here to talk with you about getting your degree online.

Plus, even with the holidays coming fast, we have our regular storytimes, knitting groups, Hispanic programs, and more.  Check out our calendar to find something that interests you!

SANTA WAS HERE!

Santa visited the Katy Branch Library Saturday, December 5, and children were eager to talk to him.  Join us for Christmas Storytimes the month of December.

The reception honoring Myrtle Ross was a success!

We had a great turnout for the reception held on November 17 for Myrtle Ross, who worked for Harris County Public Library for 36 years and also was the children's librarian and Assistant Branch Librarian here at the Katy Branch Library since 1976.   The children's section is now officially named in Myrtle's  honor - stop by and admire the portrait of her hanging there!

As you can see from the picture, the press covered the reception.  KPRC aired this video of the event.

The Week @ the Katy Library – December 7th Edition

Among our regular programs this week, we have our monthly Superación Personal for those of you who speak Spanish. Each month this group takes a topic and discusses all the aspects. This month’s topic is “Dare to Be Happy.” Come see what it’s all about on Wednesday, 12/09, at 6:00pm.
