Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the Atascocita Branch Library
I am excited to inform you that children’s author, Gwendolyn Zepeda, will be presenting a special program in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Growing Up with Tamales will be read by the author, and she will be happy to answer any question. We will provide a small snack, providing children the opportunity to taste this wonderful holiday food.  Tickets/registration are not required.

Book Clubs at Kingwood Branch Library

Did you know we have a couple of book clubs that meet regularly here at Kingwood Branch Library?  You can certainly be a part!  Our evening group, which meets the third Monday evening every month at 7:00 PM, will be gathering in the Conference Room on the 20th to discuss People of the Book, by Geraldine Brooks.  On that same Monday, the Bookworms Book Group, which also meets every third Monday but at 1:00 PM, will gather to discuss In the Valley of the Kings, by Daniel Meyerson.

Also, the annual Books on the Bayou event is back again, and this year's selection is the acclaimed graphic novel Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi.  On Monday, September 27th, at 7:00 PM, we will host a discussion of this thought-provoking title in the Conference Room.  If you enjoy a good read and delight in conversation about books, don't hesitate to join in!

Then they talked about their favorite books and made plans for the coming year. They will be meeting the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 4 to 5 pm.

Toddler Time - Our Numbers are Growing

We are excited about the success of Toddler Time! Because of the increased demand, we will now offer an additional Toddler Time on Tuesdays at 11:15 AM. We will have two Toddler Time programs on Tuesdays at 10 AM and 11:15 AM and one program on Thursday at 10 AM.

The Toddler Time program is specifically designed to gently transition the toddler to a more structured form of programming. Kingwood Branch tailors this program as an exchange between the toddler and librarian, with personal touches to identify each toddler as their own special person.

With this in mind, we will limit the number of participants to 15 per class and we will start a registration procedure.
