80's Movies and Henna tattoos!

Teens, it's shaping up to be a great summer so far!  Last week was the duct tape and sharpie tie-dye activities, which were a blast.  If you missed them, no problem.  Ms. Sunni has plenty of fun stuff for the rest of the summer here!  Be sure to stop by The Hideout and pick up a schedule.  This week, we plan on an 80s movie flashback on Tuesday at 3:00 PM and Henna on Thursday also at 3:00 PM, which requires a signed permission form from a parent or guardian.  Join us for more teen-only activities here at the library!

New Faces at Kingwood!

You may have noticed new staff that you don't recognize.  The library opened at the absolutely worst time due to the budget constraints that hit Harris County, but we have been gifted by several other Harris County branches who are sharing their staff with us.  Each department has what we call "permanent loaners" or staff who come from other branches to help us.

Blood Drive at the library

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is holding a blood drive at the Kingwood Branch Library on Monday, June 21 from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm in the Meeting Room. To schedule an appointment, visit www.giveblood.org and login to Digital Donor. You may set up an account if you do not already have one. Enter sponsor code 4928.

You can also sign up at the Adult Services reference desk on the second floor.

Duct Tape & Tie-Dye!

Hey, teens, this Tuesday, June 8th, make yourself a new wallet using just duct tape! Or if tape wallets aren't your thing, on Thursday, June 10th,  bring a plain white t-shirt and try your hand at sharpie tie-dye! It's fun and easy! Both crafts start at 4:30 PM in the downstairs meeting room. And don't forget next week! We've got a movie on Tuesday and Henna on Thursday (permission slip needed for Henna).  Check with Ms. Sunni in the teen room for a program flyer. And be on the lookout for our gaming competitions! There will be several over the summer months.
