The first Thursday of every month is ZumbAtomic at the Kingwood Library. ZumbAtomic, designed especially for children ages 4-12 is a fun, energetic fitness party with specially choregraphed dance routines and games to music kids love such as hip hop, reggaeton, cumbia and more. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join their kids for the fun.

Mash-ups? Fabulosity!

So what exactly are mash-ups? Maybe you've seen books like Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, here @ the library. And you've wondered: is that anything like that boring old book my English teacher is making me read called "Sense and Sensibility?"

Top 10 Fiction in September

Take a look below at the top ten most circulated adult fiction titles at Kingwood Branch Library during the month of September:

1.  Whiplash, by Catherine Coulter

2.  Maybe This Time, by Jennifer Crusie

3.  The Vigilantes, by W. E. B. Griffin and William E. Butterworth IV

So my friend David found this really cool program for Teen Read Week in October. It's called Chiptunes and sadly, I had not heard of it before now . Let me tell you, this is a super cool idea and is going to be a really neat program. You take an old gaming system (NES, Atari, Sega, etc.) and use it's sound chip to create music on your computer. And we'll have a DJ here on Oct. 22nd @ 4pm to show you how it works!! It's going to be an awesome program .
