Welcome Back, Kids!

Welcome Sign

The Children's Department is up and running! The Kingwood Public Library has a brand new section just for the kids. We have lots of new books (and, of course, some old favorites!), new early literacy computers, and programs to keep the young ones entertained for hours. The Children's Department serves our tiniest patrons from newborns up to age 12. (Teenagers... you have your own Hideout upstairs!) Come in and visit us... we love meeting new people and helping old friends! See you soon!

Summer plans, Teens?

Hey, teens, what are you up to this summer?  If you haven't figured that out yet, come up to the Hideout and take a look at what we've got going on!  Ms. Sunni has got a bunch of special programs and activities lined up, and we've put the info all in one place.  If you're the type who likes to plan ahead, or if you just want to be surprised to find out that the library can actually be a cool place to be, come up and grab a Texas Teens Read program flyer to see what's happening during the next several months!

The Hideout - Teens only!

Hey, teens, in case you haven't heard, we've carved out a space just for you in the new library building.  It's called "The Hideout," and that's just what it's meant to be!  We've got everything from your favorite authors to your favorite series titles, not to mention graphic novels, study areas, teen computer stations, and even a room for videogaming!  Ms. Sunni has lined up a bunch of programs and activities for you also on weekday afternoons, including the Know-It-Alls book club for LoneStar books on the first and third Mondays of the month, The Lady and Her Green Knights Chess Club every Tuesday, and a free-style Lego building activity on Thursdays.  So, get up here as soon as you can!  There's way too much fun to be had up here!

Do You Want to Pick Up Your Holds at Kingwood Again?

While the Kingwood Branch was closed during the move to the new building the Kingwood location was not available as a pick-up location. We are now open for business; if you want to pick up items at Kingwood Branch that you previously selected for pick up at Atascocita Branch then please give us a call at 281-360-6804 and ask that we change your pick up location.   Please have your library card and PIN handy. It is an easy change for us to make. We look forward to seeing you!
