Kingwood Library Expands Hours of Operation Starting June 1

Exterior: Kingwood Branch LibraryEffective June 1, 2013, Harris County Public Library’s Kingwood Branch will expand its hours of operation from five to six days a week offering you more opportunities to browse the library’s continually refreshed collection of books, movies, music and journals, in addition to making it easier for you to take advantage of a wide range of library services.

The new hours reflect the needs of the community and will give you greater access to free Wi-Fi and internet, as well as to facilities including meeting, conference and study rooms. What’s more, the expanded hours mean the Kingwood Branch’s expert staff will be available seventeen additional hours every week to assist you with research, provide entertaining educational programming for all ages, or to just suggest the perfect book.

Landing Your First Job

resumeWorkforce Solutions will be hosting a seminar aimed at teens titled "Landing Your First Job" at the Kingwood Branch Library in the Training Lab.  This seminar will take place on both Saturday, May 18th and Saturday, May 25th at 10 a.m.  This seminar is free of charge and will focus on applying for jobs, interviewing skills, and resumes.  All skills and tips that can be applied to both jobs and colleges.  For more information, call Leanne, YA Librarian for more information at 281-360-6804.

"Magical Monday" Craft and Kids Yoga

Kids come try out some yoga with "Melissa" Monday, May 13, at 4 pm. Miss Rose will set up tables for a craft at the front of the Children's Area.

We will have information about the Summer Reading Club in a few weeks.We will have calendars to give out then.

Miss Connie and the Dragoneers Craft

Miss Connie has another great craft for the Dragoneers, Thursday, May 9, at 4 pm.  They will be discussing books and having a snack.

We're still finalizing plans for the summer and will let everyone know when our calendars for the Summer Reading Program are ready.  It will probably in the last weeks of May.

Miss Rose has a craft planned for "Magical Monday" May 13, at 4 pm.
