Summer Reading Program Fun!

It's not too late to get involved with the Summer Reading Program at the library!  There's plenty of summer left!  Check out the slide show below showing plenty of the fun activities so far!

Once Upon A Time: MFAH exhibit at the Kingwood Library

Once Upon a Time: Telling Stories Through Clay is a special traveling exhibit created by MFAH that will be at the Kingwood Branch Library through August 29th.   These works are from the Garth Clark and Mark Del Vecchio Collection of contemporary ceramics at the MFAH.

Included in the works are teapots and a serving platter that celebrates the artist’s connection to “Love Shack” the song from the 1980s by the B-52s. There are bookmarks that contain information about how to get a free pass to the museum. We’ve added a display of books about this interesting art form; budding artists should be sure to take a look.

Wanted: Legos®!

When cleaning out those closets and toy chests, please consider the Kingwood Branch Library as a place to donate gently used Legos®. We would like to help spark the inner creativity of our teens in their new area at the library – The Hideout. Each week, we set out Legos® on tables to give the teens something fun and creative to do and help them unwind after a long day.

80's Movies and Henna tattoos!

Teens, it's shaping up to be a great summer so far!  Last week was the duct tape and sharpie tie-dye activities, which were a blast.  If you missed them, no problem.  Ms. Sunni has plenty of fun stuff for the rest of the summer here!  Be sure to stop by The Hideout and pick up a schedule.  This week, we plan on an 80s movie flashback on Tuesday at 3:00 PM and Henna on Thursday also at 3:00 PM, which requires a signed permission form from a parent or guardian.  Join us for more teen-only activities here at the library!
