January & February 2016 Fun4Seniors Trips departing from Kingwood Branch Library

Fun4SeniorsHarris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program is offering the following Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in January and February 2016. Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and older and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726. All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee. All trips require registering by calling 281-893-3726 in order to participate.

Codename Gener8 Kickoff!

Codename Gener8

Codename Gener8 is a new makerspace program where teens grades 6-12 can learn 3D modeling on our new 3D printer and coding through Dash & Dot robots. Preview the technology and classes we will have available to teens through 2016 during our 2 hour open house on Saturday, January 9 from 1:00-3:00 in the Meeting Room.

This science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-focused program is made possible through a grant from the Best Buy foundation and the generosity of the Friends of the Library-Kingwood (FOLK). For more information, please call the library at 281-360-6804.

Self Defense Tips: Tuesday, Jan. 5th @ 10 AM

Learn how to protect yourself against attackers with some simple self-defense techniques demonstrated by HPD Officer Dwayne Ulrich on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 10 AM in the Meeting room.  

This Program is a part of the Kingwood Senior Adult Program (KSAP).  Light refreshments are generously provided by F.O.L.K.

Want to learn how to code games? On Friday, December 11 from 4:30-5:30, in conjunction with Code.org’s Hour of Code initiative, teens will be introduced to coding for games and will learn the basics of creating their own app. This session will build on a more in-depth game coding class in January.

This program is for teens & tweens grades 6-12 and is limited to 10 viewers. Snacks generously provided by the Friends of the Library – Kingwood (FOLK).
