SAGE Film Series Begins with "The Searchers"

Tomorrow!  April 21, 2017 at 10 a.m., SAGE Program begins its Friday film series with the classic movie “The Searchers,” starring John Wayne.  A Civil War veteran spends five years on the trail of a Comanche raiding party that kidnapped his dead brother's daughters. Breathtaking scenery gives a picture of frontier families separated by miles of emptiness.

**SAGE Program events are free and no registration is required. Refreshments sponsored by the Friends of Library Kingwood (FOLK). For more information, please contact the Kingwood Branch Library at 281-360-6804.

Mr. Vincent Knight of TexLUG (Texas Lego User Group) visited the Kingwood Library for a teen program on April 18th. The creative young adults at the meeting assembled various items with the Legos that Mr. Knight brought including ships, cars, swords, and an X-wing Starfighter. The teens were allowed to take their creations home.

2017 Bayou City Book Festival

Customers turning pensStaff from the Kingwood Library participated in the Bayou City Book Festival at Lone Star College-Kingwood on April 8, 2017. We showcased some of the library system's services, like reading therapy dogs and maker activities. The library had its 3D printers in action and lead participants in making molds with vacuum forming. Thanks to our community partner, Creekwood Middle School, festivalgoers got to make their own pens. Making your own pen was a great treat for a bunch of book lovers. Thank you, Mr. Cage!
