Learn about Japanese Internment Camps during WWII this Saturday at Kingwood Branch Library

In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, Kingwood Branch Library invites the community to learn about the Japanese Internment Camps within the United State during WWII this Saturday, May 14th at 10:30 AM. This program is presented by Dr. Abbi L. Grubb, Instructor & Honors Program Coordinator of San Jacinto College – South Campus.

This program is free and open to all ages. No registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided by FOLK.

Kingwood Free Comic Book Day

The first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day! Thanks to DNA Comics, teens can pick up some free comics all day in the Teen Room on Saturday, May 7. Also make your own button in our one-day-only Button Battle between superheroes and villains. Comics are while supplies last.

Upcoming Fun4Seniors Trips departing from Kingwood Branch Library

Fun4SeniorsHarris County Precinct 4's Senior Adult Program is offering the following Fun4Seniors Excursion Trips for library customers in May and June 2016. Participating is simple. Participants must be 50 years and older and must register for trips by calling 281-893-3726. All trips depart from and return to Kingwood Branch Library located at 4400 Bens View Lane, Kingwood TX 77339. Transportation is free and lunch is on your own. Some destinations require an admission fee. All trips require registering by calling 281-893-3726 in order to participate.

New Mystery Book Club meets tomorrow @ 7:00 PM

Join us Wednesday, May 6 at 7:00 PM in the upstairs Conference Room to meet others, lay groundwork, and select the first book to discuss in June. This mystery book club is scheduled to meet the first Wednesday evening of each month.

An "Introduction to Genealogy" is offered to Kingwood residents and surrounding communities. A self-paced, three-lesson class packed full of new concepts, techniques and ideas which will hopefully get you started on your way to a fulfilling lifetime of tracing your family tree. Genealogist Devon Lee is the author of the book titled "Twenty-First Century Family Historian."
