If you're a teen and interested in volunteering at the library, the Teen Advisory Group is the place to be! Join TAG and meet up with other teens to work together to come up with program ideas, decorate the teen room, and make buttons for the monthly button battles. This month’s meeting will be on Thursday, February 16, from 6:30-7:30 PM. We meet in the upstairs conference room.

Children's Weekly Run-Down


CHILDREN’S WEEKLY RUN-DOWN! Join us this week on Thursday the 19th of January @ 4 PM for our World Tour Book Club to explore different countries and their traditions and stories.

Our Story times continue as normal! Be here for Toddler Time** on Tuesday @ 10 AM and @ 10:30 AM, Preschool Storytime on Tuesday @ 2 PM, and Infant Lapsit Storytime @ 11:15 AM on Tuesday and @ 11 AM on Thursday. We also have our Family Storytime presented on Saturday @ 10:30 where you can enjoy stories and a craft!

**Tickets required upon entry. Pick up your free ticket at the Children's Reference Desk before entering your story time. Tickets will be given to the first 30 children and their caregivers the day of the scheduled event.

3-D Printing-Intro & Demo: Tue. Jan 17th

Want to see our 3D Printer in person?  Join us at the Kingwood Branch Library for a 3D printing information and demo on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 10 AM to 12 PM.  We will have our 3D printer operating for you to view a live demo. This is the perfect opportunity for those who are new to 3D printing and want to see what it is all about, or if you are already a 3D printing enthusiast here is an opportunity to come and share what you are working on! This event is a part of our SAGE program and open to all adults.

**SAGE (Sharing and Gaining Experiences) Program events are free and no registration is required. Refreshments are compliments of Friends of Library Kingwood (FOLK). For more information, please contact the Library at 281-360-6804.

 

Teen Coding with Robots - Jan. 17 @ 4:30 PM

On Tuesday, January 17, from 4:30-5:30 PM, teens can learn how to code with robots at the Kingwood Branch Library! Using Blocky, a JavaScript coding language, teens can program Dash & Dot robots to navigate through an obstacle course.

Photography: Digital Scrapbooking

Scrapbooking enhances your favorite memories and it has now gone digital! Join the Kingwood Photo Club for an exciting and informative program on digital scrapbooking on Saturday, January 14th from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Meeting Room. Put your images (either scanned or from your camera), along with various graphic elements together into a digital scrapbook and make memories. You'll learn about software available, as well as where and how to acquire the graphics you'll want for a fun and beautiful scrapbook project.

This class is best for beginner and intermediate photographers who would like to extend their art to the printed, scrapbook world.

The program is free. Sign up is not required, but helpful. If you wish, you may sign up with the Kingwood Photo Club here to let them know number of attendees.
