Next "ology" is Geology, the Study of Rocks

The next "ology" program  "Geology the Study of Rocks"  will be Thursday, September 12,

at  4 pm in the Children's Activity Room.

                  No, Little Owl, it's not the study of rock star owls!"

There will be a craft for kids to make, too.

Kingwood Branch Library draws FOLK Adult Summer Reading Program Winner

In addition to system-wide prizes courtesy of Harris County Friends of the Library, Friends of the Library Kingwood (FOLK) contributed Kindle Touch readers to the Young Adult and Adult Summer Reading Programs (SRP). Kingwood teens and adults who read 5 titles or 600 minutes were eligible for the drawing.

Nancy Howley was the lucky adult winner of a Kindle Touch. Science teacher by day and avid reader by night, Nancy loves to read science books and biographies. She is currently reading Jessica Buchanan's Impossible Odds.

Library Closed For Labor Day

The Kingwood Library will be closed Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day.

We will open Tuesday, September 3, at 10 am.

Something new is happening on Thursdays at 4 pm in the Childrens Activity Room.  We are calling it: "Ology, the Study of..."   Our first will be Bromatology, the study of food. This will be a program and a craft.

Kingwood Branch Library draws Adult Summer Reading Program Winner

Hats off to another great summer! Our 2013 summer reading program, Have Book - Will Travel, proved to be a success. As part of the Adult Summer Reading Program, every library branch drew names for $30 Amazon Gift Cards courtesy of Harris County Friends of the Library. Icy-Jo Trahan was our lucky winner here at Kingwood! She was very excited to receive her prize. You see? It does pay off to read!

Be sure to keep an eye out for next year's summer reading program. Have a great school year and visit us soon!

School Starts Monday

School starts Monday, August 26, for most kids in the Kingwood area,  and our afternoon programs will have some time changes, too.  Our Monday and Thursday afternoon programs will move from 2:15 to 4 pm.  Miss Sarah has a great craft planned for Monday at 4 pm in the Children's Activity Room.

The Kingwood Library will be closed for Labor Day, Monday September 2.
