The "ology" for today is:  Volcanology, the study of volcanoes!  Come join with Miss Rose to make a volcano in the Children's Activity Room at 4 pm.

Sorry this was late, but did you know that today is "Talk Like a Pirate Day?"  We have lot of pirate books on our shelves just behind the reference desk in the Kingwood Library.

DIY Flower Pots with Sugar Skull Designs

Flower PotsWhy should kids have all the crafting fun? This month marks our first Adult Crafternoon, a monthly craft program just for adults! Join us this Friday, September 20th at 2:30 PM for craft and conversation. In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, we are decorating flower pots inspired by sugar skull designs. No registration is required. All materials are provided, while supplies last. Materials are provided courtesy of Friends of the Library Kingwood.

Keep Kingwood Green presents Recycling in Kingwood

RecycleNew to the area or want to know how you can keep Kingwood the Livable Forest? On Friday, September 13, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Keep Kingwood Green (KKG) shares tips and resources for recycling opportunities in the Kingwood community. Attendees will receive a free tote bag courtesy of KKG while supplies last. Keep up with all things KKG by liking them on Facebook! While you're there, be sure to like us too.

Become a Volunteer ESL Tutor !!

Have you ever wanted to help someone learn to read, write, and speak English?  If so, there will be a free training for prospective Volunteer ESL Tutors on Thursday, September 12 at 6:00 PM. in the library Meeting Room.  Steve Zach, Harris County Public Library's Literacy Coordinator, will be presenting current teaching methods designed specifically for working with students of English as a second language ("ESL").  For more information, or to register, please call 281-360-6804, or stop by our Adult Services desk.
