Adult Summer Reading Program Winner!

Lara Zuckerman, a lifelong reader, is the Kingwood Branch Library 2012 Summer Adult Reading Program (ASRP) winner of the Amazon.com gift card!

Ms. Zuckerman said that her mother introduced her to reading as a young child and that she would sit under the table and read. As an adult, she fought the idea of e-books, but now reads only with her Nook.  Ms. Zuckerman added that she has her Nook app on her phone and now is never without a book to read.

One of her friends told her about the Harris County ASRP and so she signed up.  She told her other friends and they signed up.

Now she is able to tell them that she is the ASRP 2012 Kingwood Library winner!

Labor Day 2012

The Kingwood Library and all other Harris County Libraries will be closed Monday, September 3, 2012, to celebrate Labor Day.

Now that summer is over and schools starting, we will be having some changes in the Children's Area.  A new graphic novel book club for kids 8 to 12 years old called K.R.A.K.E.N. (Kids Reading Around Kingwood Every Night) with Miss Sunni, will meet the first and third Thursdays of each month.  The first meeting will be Thursday, September 6, at 4 pm.

Back to School

Kids are heading off to school, and we've been asked if we are changing  the times of our programs and activities in the Children's Area.  Check our "Events Calendar" to the right of this blog for days and times of these. We will be changing the movie times to 4 pm on Fridays.  We will be having a craft, program, or activity on Mondays at 4, beginning Monday, September 10.   All Harris County Libraries will be closed for Labor Day, Monday, September 3.  The library will reopen Tuesday, September 4, at 10 am.
